Camelot Ballroom is a 11,000 square foot facility in Overland Park, Kansas, built around a 6,000 square foot floating hardwood dance floor. The studio teaches ballroom, Latin, smooth, and rhythm styles at beginner through intermediate levels, with an emphasis on structured group lessons and social dance practice.
Classes run throughout the week across multiple styles. Waltz classes on Mondays include Essential Style (6:30–7:15 pm) and Advanced Style (7:15–8 pm), both taught by Shelley Judd at $15. East Coast Swing meets Monday evenings 8–9 pm with instructors Laurelyn and Spencer ($15, no partner required). The studio offers Contemporary Line Dancing with Connie on Wednesdays 11 am–2 pm across three levels, covering Tango, Cha-Cha, Night Club, Country, Waltz, and Rock and Roll ($5 for two hours, $10 for three). Goddess Walk with Shelley Judd runs Tuesdays 6:30–8 pm ($15, $10 for students and seniors). Belly Dance classes with Theresa meet Thursdays 5–6 pm for all levels ($20), with a Belly Dance Team session 6–7 pm. For younger dancers, Drama House: Tiny Dancers with Miss Audrey Lena offers 30-minute beginner sessions combining ballet basics, stretches, and creative play through dance characters. Group dance lessons are held Monday evenings at 7:00 pm for beginner to intermediate levels, with each dance taught for two months; January and February 2025 feature Foxtrot. Private lessons are available for focused technique work.
The studio hosts multiple dance nights and open-dances every week, with WCS Monthly Dance Nights and live bands featured on weekends. Recent events include Valentine's Dinner & Dance, St. Patrick's Dance, and Spring Showcase events with DJ, spot light dance exhibitions, and social dancing. The facility has hosted KC Dance Classic competitions and New Year's Eve celebrations.
The main ballroom holds 500+ guests with capacity for 40 tables, features three tiered chandeliers, 15-foot windows, two flat-screen TVs, a reception foyer, stage, two backstage areas, and a canopied main entrance. A bar and kitchen are available for catering. A small classroom can be rented separately for classes or event staging. Space rental is available for weddings, business events, and private parties.
