About this studio
EDGE Dance Studio (formerly Charlee's Elite School of Dance) opened in 2004 with a mission to bring all styles under one roof and make elite training accessible to every dancer. The studio is led by Charlee, a mother of four boys who all dance, alongside Mr. Nick and Miss Roni. Classes serve dancers and tumblers of all ages, starting from 2 years old, with offerings tailored for toddlers, preschoolers, older children, and teens.
The studio teaches ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, lyrical, hip-hop, all-boys classes, and tumbling. Classes are structured around small class sizes and certified instructors, with a stated emphasis on proper technique, individual attention, and a family-first approach.
EDGE is an active member of Dance Masters of Mid-America Chapter #34. The studio's students participate in the chapter's annual convention, which includes masterclasses with top instructors and a Performing Arts Critique where judges provide detailed feedback on technique, artistry, and stage presence. Highlights include the Solo Title Competition; in 2026, EDGE students Rocco Slaughter (Teen Mr. Dance Masters Chapter #34), Brody Taylor (Junior Mr. Dance Masters Chapter #34), and Khaleesi Walker (Junior Miss Dance Masters Chapter #34) won chapter titles. Top dancers compete at the Dance Masters National Competition; this year's competitors are headed to Mashantucket, Connecticut.
Private lessons are available to non-current students with Mr. Nick, a nationally recognized choreographer, adjudicator, and certified dance educator. Nick has trained at EDGE PAC and Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles, and the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City. He is certified through the Nan Giordano Certification Program, Acrobatic Arts, and Dance Masters of America. Private lessons cover technique training in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, hip-hop, pom, and customized strength and flexibility plans. Acro and tumbling instruction covers skills from cartwheels and walkovers to aerials, handsprings, and tucks (Acrobatic Arts Certified). Nick's students have attended Oklahoma City University, AMDA, Young Americans College of the Performing Arts, and NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
The studio also runs performance teams including the Elite Edge Competition Team, Iowa Dance Theatre, and a Nutcracker production. Trial classes are available before committing to enrollment. Registration and scheduling happen through an online Parent Portal.
