About this studio
Dancin! Performing Arts Center opened in Reno in 1996 as the first performing arts center in the region. It occupies new studios in the Caughlin Ranch Shopping Center, next to Raleys, at 4786 Caughlin Pkwy, Ste 301. The center is directed by Amanda Coulson, a performer and choreographer with a lifetime of international stage experience spanning ballet, tap, jazz, Irish dance, musical theatre, and ballroom.
The studio teaches Classical Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary, Pop, Hip Hop, and Irish Dance & Ceili. Beyond dance, it offers Vocal & Musical Theater, Improv Acting, Little Kids Kombos, Tumbling & Acro for Dancers, and Music Lessons for Piano, Flute, Ukulele, and Violin. Classes run for all ages and technical levels, from pre-school through adults and from beginning to professional.
Amanda Coulson's faculty includes Diane Guest-Hoff as Classical Ballet Director, trained in Cecchetti style and formerly a principal dancer with Donn Arden's Hello Hollywood, Hello! at the Reno MGM. Ciel Post teaches Drama Class, Vocal, and Mat Pilates. Robin Parker serves as Tuition Coordinator. The studio emphasizes accomplished, accredited, and experienced professional instruction.
Performance opportunities run throughout the year. The centre produces Dancin! Christmas Holiday performances and an Annual Recital in June, alongside Competition performances, Tap Exams, and Ballet Assessments. In association with Shamrock Productions (formerly the Reno Irish Dance Company), the studio presents annual Irish and Celtic performances including 'SIAMSA' – A Celtic Christmas in December, St Patrick's Day performances in March, and 'A Celtic Summer's Eve' in July.
The studio also hosts the 'Ladies Who Tap' program, designed as a tap dance and total health program for women, incorporating research on the brain benefits of dance. Wedding dance packages are available from $199, and summer camps are offered. Virtual classes are available upon request. The centre prioritizes student and staff safety and offers 2025 Gift Certificates and Buddy Passes for free trial classes.
