About this studio
Galaxy Studios, located at 1500 Mallinckrodt St in St. Louis, is home to Outstanding Starz, a dance programme rooted in community. The studio operates under the Outstanding Starz Foundation, whose mission is to provide a positive, fun and safe environment for underserved and under-resourced youth in the St. Louis Metro area, with a focus on developing both the dancer and the person.
The studio offers two main pathways: recreational dance classes and a Competition and Performance dance team programme. Classes cover ballet, tap, hip hop, majorette and contemporary, plus acro training. Summer dance training runs from August 12th, giving dancers a head start on the upcoming season. The Competition and Performance Team (ages 7–18) trains dancers who perform, compete and travel; no prior experience is necessary, but commitment is required. A separate Performing programme for ages 5–18 provides opportunities to compete and perform in parades, competitions and community performances.
Enrolment is open for ages 6–19+ across the Competition and Performance programmes. The studio emphasises that dancers "will learn ballet, tap, hip hop, majorette, contemporary, etc." and that "we train so no experience necessary but commitment required."
Beyond classes, Galaxy Studios is available for space rental. The main studio foyer and kitchenette can host exercise or dance classes for up to 15 students starting at $25 an hour, small meetings or groups at the same rate, or parties for up to 40 people starting at $50 an hour. An outside private patio is also available.
Hours are Monday to Friday 3pm–10pm, Saturday 11am–2pm and Sunday 3pm–10pm. The studio holds a 4.6 Google rating across 12 reviews.
