About this studio
Groove Station Collective is rooted in Lindy Hop, Swing and Jazz, with a deliberate commitment to acknowledging and appreciating their Black American origins. The space functions as both a teaching studio and a community gathering place, built on the belief that music brings people together.
Weekly Lindy Hop classes form the core of what they offer. Classes are built on fundamental technique, social dancing and lots of music — a practical and fun approach to improving your dancing. You don't need prior experience; beginners and experienced dancers are equally welcome.
Beyond classes, Groove Station hosts a monthly social dance night every last Wednesday, where you can dance, practice or simply hang out with the community. They also organise and collaborate on larger events: The Night Train and Lindy Hop Night Fever are signature gatherings that draw international musicians and dancers. Collaboration runs deep — past projects have included tap dance, hustle, roller skate and other communities.
Founded in 2025, Groove Station Collective emerged from Randy's personal journey into the Lindy Hop scene. He first encountered the culture in 2019 and became committed to building a space for it in Cologne. What began with spontaneous riverside dancing has grown into a structured venue and teaching collective, driven by three core values: connecting people through dance and music, learning and growing together, and expressing joy and freedom as a vibrant community.
