About this studio

Kentucky Repertory Dance Theatre is a Christian ballet company in Lexington founded in 1990. The studio teaches ballet, modern, and conditioning classes for ages 2 through adult, with a mission to teach technique, promote fitness, and joyfully minister the Gospel through dance.

Classes span all levels from Ballet and Play (ages 2–5) through advanced Level 5–6 pointe work (ages 12+). The studio offers Beginner Ballet Level I (ages 6–8), Beginner Ballet Level II (ages 8–9), Level III (ages 10–14), and Level IV (ages 11+). Teen and Adult Beginner Ballet is available for those returning to dance or starting for the first time. Modern classes are offered at Level IV and V–VI. Additional offerings include conditioning and exercise classes for ages 12 and up, with a dedicated Adult Senior Conditioning option. At times classes also feature folk and liturgical worship.

The schedule is designed around a consistent weekly structure. Young children meet once a week, while intermediate and advanced students train 3.5 to 6 hours per week. Classes meet at Dancers' Studio, located at 570 Delzan, Suite 36 (2nd floor, Keithshire Place off Clays Mill Road). The studio maintains a focus on growth and maturity, with instruction from named teachers including Nancy Durall (Artistic Director), Miss Sue, Miss Laura, Miss Breanna, Miss Anna, and Miss Laurie.

KRDT holds ministry performances in both winter and spring, with a modest performance fee that covers costume and facility rental. These performances are described as exciting and fun, building dancers' strengths and challenging them to grow. The studio also offers pre-pointe and pointe training for advanced students, and male-specific classes including Male Ballet (ages 11–18) and Male Conditioning with partnering twice monthly.
