About this studio

Dancers' Studio was founded in 2000 by Laurie Fields and operates from Suite 36 in Keithshire Center on Delzan Place. The studio offers classes in pre-ballet, ballet technique, pointe, tap, modern and yoga for ages 3 through adult, taught in small classes or through private instruction. All programmes are built on a strong technical base and operate in a non-competitive environment.

Laurie Fields directs the studio and brings over 40 years of teaching experience. She holds an MFA in Dance from the University of Iowa and an undergraduate degree in Environmental Design/Architecture from NCSU. In 2010 she completed her 200-hour yoga certification. Fields emphasises understanding the fundamentals of dance through explanation and demonstration, using carefully structured stretches and guided exercises to help dancers develop proper alignment, strength and expressive quality. She teaches the ballet majors at SCAPA Bluegrass (grades 4–8) and SCAPA Lafayette High School through Fayette County Public Schools.

Whether you are looking to try something new or improve your technique, the studio aims to welcome dancers at all levels. Classes are designed with attention to the whole student—mind, body and soul—celebrating the joy of dance across all ages.
