About this studio
La Danza Tanzzentrum is a dance school in the heart of Cologne offering classes in Latin, urban and contemporary styles. You can start alone or with a partner, and the school emphasises flexible entry — you can take a trial lesson in any style to find what suits you, then join at your level and move up or down whenever you want.
The core pair-dance styles are Salsa Cubana, Casino and Colombiana; Bachata Sensual and Dominicana; Kizomba, Urban Kiz and Zouk Brasil; and Tango Argentino. For solo dancers, classes run in Contemporary Dance, Commercial Dance and Reggaeton, Dancehall, Hip Hop, Twerk and Afro, Heels and Lady Styling, Ragga Hip, and Zumba Fitness and Twerxout. There are dedicated Kids and Teens classes as well.
You can choose between a weekly course subscription (one class per week) or an AllClass Flatrate that lets you attend any class any day with no limit. Beginners get a 12-week starter booking. The school allows you to pause your subscription for up to six months (three months for the old Flatrate terms) if you need a break, and you can make up missed hours in similar-level classes.
Beyond regular classes, La Danza offers private lessons, wedding choreography (you work with instructors to choose your music and create a routine together), group classes for school teams, dance performances for corporate and birthday events, and bespoke lessons for hen parties (JGA) — choose Salsa with a Cuban instructor or a Lady Styling course, and use the foyer for a champagne reception with the bride and her guests. Gift vouchers are available in standard and Christmas designs, sold on-site, by mail or online.
The studio is open Monday 18:00–22:00, Tuesday 16:00–22:00, Wednesday 17:00–22:00, Thursday 18:00–20:00, Friday 16:00–22:00, and Sunday 16:00–21:00. Recent workshops and parties have included a Shuffle Workshop and the Bachatalicious Party (21:00–03:00). Instructors rotate through partner changes during couple classes so you dance with different people and get feedback from qualified, experienced teachers who bring the culture and spirit of each style.
