Modern Elements- The Dance Studio & Boutique

Modern Elements is a dance studio in Fairmont Plaza Shopping Center in Kettering, Ohio, designed around professional sprung floors built to protect dancers' bodies. The studio blends modern and classical training across seven dance styles: ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, modern, tap, and musical theatre.

The faculty includes instructors with BFAs in dance and decades of teaching experience. The studio maintains a well-stocked library of dance literature and positions itself as a space where "tradition meets innovation, and every dancer finds their place." Owner Kelly Dailey describes the studio's mission as cultivating a vibrant dance community that celebrates diversity and embraces inclusion.

Classes are offered in group and private formats. Group classes range from 30 to 60 minutes. Private mentorship classes are also available, including a 30-minute 3x weekly option. The studio runs a full season (2026–2027) with monthly tuition starting at $50 for 30-minute weekly classes, plus a $25 annual registration fee per family. Summer 5-week courses are also offered at lower rates. The studio hosts a recital event for enrolled students.

Modern Elements also operates an on-site boutique stocked with dancewear and accessories: ballet and jazz shoes, tights in various shades, leotards in a range of sizes, wrap skirts, legwarmers, tutus, jazz shorts, turning boards, resistance bands, stretch blocks, dance journals, dance bags, water bottles, hair supplies, performance earrings, body care essentials, and studio logo apparel. The boutique is open Monday to Friday 4:30–6:30 p.m. and Saturday 9–11 a.m. Assistance is also available at the nearby Funk Lab front desk Monday to Friday 4–7 p.m.

Office hours are Monday to Friday 4–8 p.m. Inquiries about class schedules, levels, pricing, or class recommendations can be made by calling, texting, or emailing. The studio is located at 1230 E Stroop Road in Kettering, two doors down from Funk Lab Dance Center and behind the Speedway Gas Station.

When you contact Modern Elements, the team will help match you to classes based on your dance background and interests. The studio offers group classes in seven styles at beginner through advanced levels, as well as private instruction. The facility features professionally maintained sprung floors and mirrors.

The faculty holds BFAs in dance and possess decades of teaching experience. Dr. Vania Purpero, a dance medicine specialized physical therapist, is associated with the studio.
