About this studio
Stage Stars Dance and Acro is the dance programme at Hockessin Athletic Club, a large health and fitness facility in Hockessin, Delaware. The curriculum accommodates both beginner and advanced students across multiple styles. You can take ballet, the foundation of all dance that develops physical and mental discipline; tap, based on rhythmic combinations and sound made by the feet; jazz, a form of contemporary movement that gives dancers new dimension of style and expression; lyrical, moving to music with emphasis on expression and movement with improvisation; hip hop, the latest styles of street dance, funky and fun; and acro, a dance style that blends classical dance techniques with acrobatic elements including flexibility tricks, balances, partnering skills, and tumbling.
All students have the opportunity to perform in the annual end-of-the-year recitals. For dancers ages 6 and up who want to take training to the next level, Stage Stars Dance Company offers committed dancers the chance to perform at dance competitions and conventions as part of their dance family.
The 2026–27 session runs from September 14th through May 9th, 2027, with registration opening August 24th. Classes close for Thanksgiving week (November 23–29), winter break (December 21, 2026 – January 3, 2027), mid-winter break (February 12–15), spring break (March 26 – April 2). Additional single-style classes can be added to your weekly routine—expand training to include ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, or acro. Classroom attire for ages 3–4, ages 5–6, and Dance A is purchased through Nimbly.
