About this studio

Radiance Dance Studio teaches ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, and musical theater to dancers aged three to eighteen. Owner and director Emily Tessar studied all forms of dance and performed as a solo artist, in small groups, and in large production ensembles before focusing on teaching and coaching. She trained at the University of Delaware, where she was on the Dance Team and participated in the student-run dance company Delaware Dance Fever.

The studio occupies fresh, new facilities on Yorklyn Road. You'll find one of the biggest studios in the area — designed for detailed choreography with plenty of space to perfect it — plus a smaller, more intimate studio for younger students. The building also includes stretching and warm-up spaces, cubbies for personal belongings, a refreshment lounge, a homework and study area, and an accessories boutique.

The teaching team includes Miss Amanda Torres (trained in ballet, jazz, hip-hop and other genres; professional dancer for the Philadelphia Soulmates and Philadelphia Eagles; choreographer for Wilmington University dance team), Miss Natasha Rosenberg (2023 graduate from DeSales University in ballet and contemporary; studied abroad at The Braswell Art's Center in Basel, Switzerland; participated in Ballet Hispanico's ChoreLaB program in New York City), Miss Caroline Wentker (classically trained in ballet, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and ballroom; attended Joffrey Ballet School in New York; 14 years in the competition dance community; current member of Delaware Dance Fever), Miss Hannah Schell (University of Delaware graduate; studied at Kirov Academy of Ballet, Joffrey Ballet School, American Academy of Ballet, and Koltun Ballet of Boston; 15 years of dance training), Miss Lauren Nunez (16 years of training in all styles; competitive dancer at Fierce Dance Company in Staten Island; trained at Broadway Dance Center, Brickhouse NYC, Millennium Dance Complex, Playground LA; member of Delaware Dance Fever), and Mr Nick Elder (won multiple national and regional titles as a competitive dancer; began dancing at age 8).

Classes run September through May on a regular schedule, with a special camp schedule over summer. A spring recital happens every year and is not mandatory. Monthly tuition lets you freeze your account if you need to stop taking classes — no further payments due. You can try a class free before signing up. During class, TV screens in the waiting room show each classroom so you can observe your child. The studio offers a 20% family discount on all additional siblings and a 10% cash or check discount when paid on time.
