About this studio
Stage Starz Academy of Dance is located at 6800 Lewis Avenue in Temperance, Michigan. The studio offers instruction in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, and Contemporary, with classes for ages 3 and up spanning preschool through pre-professional levels. The staff has had a presence in the community and a footprint in the dance world for over 25 years as dedicated and award-winning dancers, teachers, choreographers, competition choreographers, production managers and artistic directors.
The studio's instruction is frequently recognized at nationally-acclaimed dance competitions, with students receiving high gold and platinum trophies, overall placements, and judges' choice awards. The classroom facilities are equipped with safe, shock-absorbent, professional dance flooring, mirrored walls, ballet barres, and sound systems. An adjacent dressing room is convenient for dancers on the go.
The lobby is designed for parent viewing with large one-way mirrored observation windows. Parents can see in, but dancers see only a mirrored reflection and are not distracted. Standard classes are offered at Preschool, Primary, Elementary, and Intermediate through Advanced levels. Specialized classes in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, lyrical, contemporary and musical theater are available for ages 5 and up as private lessons, semi-private (2–3 students), or duet/trio formats.
Advancing students have the option to audition for and enroll in competitive dance, with competition teams organized by age group: Minis, Petites, Juniorettes, Juniors, and Teens. All students perform at the Bedford Trade Fair and at the annual Recital Showcase in June. The studio offers summer intensives and operates a bring-a-friend registration program.
Teachers are described as warm and welcoming, creating a professional yet fun atmosphere conducive to happy learning and community. Lead teachers, many of whom are mothers themselves, recognize the importance of reaching the heart and soul in generating an esteem-boosting experience for young dancers.
