About this studio
Subsdans is a warm and inclusive dance studio in central Oslo offering classes across a range of urban and fusion styles. You can study hip-hop, breaking, popping, locking, afrofusion, dancehall, house, vogue and waacking. Classes focus on fundamentals, technique and the history behind each style, alongside dance combinations and freestyle methods so you develop as a dancer.
The studio runs classes for children (7–16 years in summer courses, with a dedicated children's programme in term time) and separate tracks for teenagers and adults. New students can try a class free. The studio also offers private lessons and runs open trainings alongside the main timetable.
The pedagogues are described as world-class active practitioners within their respective genres and styles, each a leading figure in their field. They share a common aim to lift their students.
Subsdans operates from two dance studios within Schous Kulturbryggeri. The large studio is 85 square metres with mirrors, a music system with minijack connection for phones, tablets and laptops, and roller blinds to cover mirrors for flexible use. The small studio is 56 square metres with the same equipment. Both rooms have changing facilities and a lounge area. Evening classes run weekdays 16:00–22:00 during term, but daytime, weekend and holiday rental is available.
The studio also handles show and casting bookings and offers studio rental for rehearsals, productions, dance, yoga, martial arts, theatre, singing and other activities. Package pricing is available for multi-hour or multi-day rentals.
