About this studio

The Grand Dance Academy in Al Quoz 3, Dubai, teaches a broad range of dance styles to children and adults through group and private lessons. The academy is an official representative of the World Dance Organization (WDO) and is certified by the Dance Association. You can train in Ballroom Standard, Ballroom Latin, Argentinian Tango, Oriental Dance, Commercial Dance, Hip-hop, Social Dance, Salsa/Bachata, and Stretching classes. The academy also runs Wedding dance lessons, helping couples choreograph and practise their first dance together.

The teaching staff brings substantial competitive credentials. Anastasia Kurilenko is an International ballroom adjudicator for the WDO, an International Oriental dance adjudicator for the IDF, a UNESCO CID member, and Vice World Champion in oriental dances (Spain, 2009). Aleksandr Pozdnyakov is an 8-time champion of the Ural Federal District in ballroom dancing and holds Master of Sports status. Yurii Kurilenko is a professional performer, choreographer and ballroom dance coach, three-time Champion of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and placed in the Top 10 of the IDSF World Championship in ten dances. Janos Aladic became a state champion in Serbia and vice champion at the European Championship (IDO), and has worked on choreography and creative projects as an art director in Dubai.

Classes are structured by age and level. For children aged 4–6, Newcomers classes run Monday and Thursday at 4:00 PM, with Intermediate on the same days at 5:00 PM. Ages 6–8 Intermediate meet Wednesday and Friday at 4:00 PM. Ages 7–12 Juniors Newcomers are Monday and Thursday at 5:00 PM, with Juniors Intermediate on Wednesday at 6:00 PM and Friday at 3:00 PM. Adults take classes across the week, including beginner ballet (Friday 10:00 AM), Latina, Oriental, Argentinian Tango, Salsa/Bachata, and Stretching. The academy also offers a dance camp where kids explore various styles under professional instruction, with creative workshops and a final performance.

Beyond classes, Grand Dance Academy organises significant events. The Grand Cup International Ballroom Dance Championship, held in October at the Marriott Hotel Al Jaddaf, brings over 300 dancers from 30+ countries to compete in the WDO World Championship and Middle East Championship, including the WDO Juniors Solo 10 Dance World Championship. The academy runs a Hollywood showcase, Valentine's Day Grand Party with couple's dance classes at 50% discount, and Grand Milonga evenings featuring Argentine Tango classes followed by dance parties. Wedding dance preparation is available, and the academy rents four halls for private classes, events, and celebrations from 100 AED. Stretching classes start from 100 AED.
