The Lloyd Shaw Foundation
Governs
National Heritage Body
Overview
Incorporated in 1964 as a Colorado non-profit, growing out of "The Fellowship" gatherings of Lloyd Shaw's summer dance class held with his widow Dorothy Stott Shaw in Colorado Springs. The Foundation is "dedicated to the preservation, restoration and teaching of the folk dances of America" and publishes cue sheets, books and recordings covering squares, contras, rounds, quadrilles, lancers, reels, hornpipes, jigs and community dances. A preservation and teaching body, not a competitive federation.
