RIEHATA is a Tokyo-born dancer, choreographer, teacher, and director who shaped K-pop and Japanese hip-hop choreography through a distinctive fusion of Old School Hip-Hop and New Jack Swing. She began dance and voice lessons at eleven, then concentrated on hip-hop styles while training in ballet and jazz. At fifteen, she began traveling to Los Angeles for intensive training that broadened her movement vocabulary across multiple studio forms. After relocating to Los Angeles following junior high school in 2004, RIEHATA developed a method that combines styles and invents new moves rather than staying within a single codified genre, incorporating jerking, the Dougie, and other contemporary forms alongside her foundational training.

RIEHATA's choreography has shaped some of the most recognizable K-pop visuals of the past decade. She has created choreography for BTS, TWICE, Red Velvet, NCT U, and BoA, with her work for BTS and NCT featured on Apple Music's editorial playlist of choreographed performances. Beyond K-pop, she has performed alongside Chris Brown, Omarion, and Lady Gaga, bringing her swag-centered movement vocabulary to international stages.

In Japan, RIEHATA leads RHT and serves as director of avex ROYAL BRATS, a team formed for D.LEAGUE competition. Her approach centers swagger, team identity, and high-impact creation, establishing a model for how Old School Hip-Hop and New Jack Swing principles translate into contemporary ensemble work. As a teacher on platforms like STEEZY, she continues to pass on her fusion methodology to the next generation of dancers navigating genre boundaries.
