About the author
Ned Wayburn (1874–1942) was a pioneering American choreographer and dance teacher who built his reputation staging elaborate musical productions, most notably the Ziegfeld Follies. He operated the Ned Wayburn Studios of Stage Dancing in New York, where he trained hundreds of performers in the techniques documented in this manual. Wayburn was instrumental in professionalizing dance training in American musical theatre and is widely recognized as the architect of the precision chorus line style.
