360 Dance

360 Dance has been helping Louisville build healthy, confident kids through dance since 1977. Located on Plantside Drive, the studio occupies a 13,000 square foot facility with 4 large dance rooms, each with viewing windows so parents can watch classes. The facility includes 2 private dressing rooms, multiple large restrooms, a multi-purpose/study room, and free Wi-Fi.

The studio teaches Ballet, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Tap, Jazz, Acro, and 360 Kids/Pre-Dance classes. Ballet is described as the basis of all dance forms that develops grace, control, and poise through proper alignment and technique. Contemporary combines modern, lyrical, and classical styles with a ballet base. Hip-Hop features street dancing, breakdancing, improvisation, and stylized isolations set to high-energy music. Tap teaches rhythmic sounds created with the feet. Jazz combines classical ballet and modern dance technique with contemporary influences, emphasising energy, rhythmical accuracy, and style. Acro combines bending, balancing, and stretching movements with dance.

360 Dance runs three distinct programmes. The Recreational dance programme is for casual dancers looking to gain poise, coordination, rhythm, and confidence. The Competitive Prep Dance programme serves aspiring dancers aged 7–13 who want to take their skills to the next level while maintaining other activities; these dancers compete at regional competitions and participate in the end-of-year show in May. The Competitive Dance programme targets serious dancers seeking sound technical training, performance opportunities, and potential collegiate pathways; these dancers compete at regional and national competitions, with auditions held in August each year.

Many of 360 Dance's instructors are former students. Alumni testimonials emphasise the studio's lasting impact: one former dancer competed with 360's studio and all-star teams, later joined Assumption High School's dance team, and continued dancing professionally as a musical theatre performer. Another attended the University of Louisville and became a member of the nationally ranked Ladybirds dance team. Others went on to work in television, film, and Broadway performance. The studio's approach emphasises not only technical excellence but also life skills including self-confidence, responsibility, hard work, and healthy habits.

Performance opportunities include a mid-year show in December and an end-of-year show in May. The studio is available for outside events and rentals. The school year runs from early August through late May, with breaks scheduled for Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas (extending into January), Martin Luther King Day, and Spring Break (early to mid-April).

Classes follow detailed dress codes specific to each style and age group, from leotards and ballet shoes for ballet to comfortable moveable clothing and tennis shoes for hip-hop. New students should register in advance.
