Aloha DanceSport Center

Aloha DanceSport Center occupies 4,000 square feet across two upscale dance studios, each with a floating dance floor and high-performance sound system. It is the largest and only dedicated dancesport center in Hawaii.

The studio offers private lessons, group classes, practice sessions, and wedding packages. Programmes include children's and teen classes, as well as hip hop. The teaching focuses on social, hobby, exhibition, formation, cabaret, theatre arts, and competitive styles in both American and International formats.

Lucas Jaime, owner and director, began dancing at age 4 under his grandmother Benita Campuzano, a tango Argentine dancer. At 12 he was taken to the world-famous Roseland Ballroom in New York City. At 15, inspired by a Pierre Dulaine and Yvonne Marceux performance, he committed to ballroom dancing. He won two World Titles in salsa and the hustle, and numerous competitions across the Tri-State area, as well as titles in International Style, American Style, Cabaret, Show Dance, and Theatre Arts. He trained with Arthur Murray International and was coached by names including Shirley and Corky Ballas, Karen and Marcus Hilton, and Pierre Dulaine. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and is a Licentiate member of USISTD, NADTA, PDF, and NDCA. He is regarded throughout the USA as one of the top Pro-Am teachers in the nation and has produced many USA Pro-Am champions.

Yanna Jaime Samkova, co-instructor, was born in Prague and began ballet at age 6, later joining a contemporary school for four years. At 12 she started competing as an amateur in International Latin and Standard Ballroom, turning professional at 18. She won her country's Latin and Standard National Championships for four consecutive years and represented the Czech Republic at the World Championships in Blackpool, the International British Championships, the European Championships, and the British Open, always placing in the top 24. After moving to the USA in 2000, she mastered American Style, Theatre Arts, Cabaret, Showdance, Hustle, and Salsa, winning numerous titles and performing across the USA and internationally. She holds a degree with honours from Palacky University in Sociology with a minor in Human Resource Management, and a Certificate in Sport Psychology from Ashworth University. She is a member of PDF, NADTA, NDCA, and a Licentiate member of USISTD. She founded and runs Hawaii Dancesport, Inc., a non-profit dance scholarship programme supporting ballroom dancing for children and youth in Hawaii, and is instrumental in running the Divino Ritmo Dance Grand Ball.

You will work with fully certified professional teachers in one of two upscale studios with floating dance floors and high-performance sound systems. Classes and private lessons are offered across multiple styles and levels, from beginner social dancing to competitive training.

The studio teaches dance for all levels and ages, with programmes designed for children, teens, and adults.
