About this studio

BallroomUtah Dance Studio teaches International and American Ballroom and Latin styles in South Salt Lake. The studio is the only facility in the area with a spring-floating dance floor, designed to be easy on your knees. Classes and private lessons are available for beginners through advanced dancers, and the studio welcomes students aged 9 and above.

The studio offers a wide range of styles: Ballroom Smooth and Standard (Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Peabody), Latin American and International (Cha-Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive, Swing, Bolero, Mambo), County Western (AZ & TX 2-Step, East/West Coast Swing, Polka), Social Dances (Bachata, Salsa, West Coast Swing, Lindy Swing, Disco and Club Hustle, Nightclub 2-Step), and Wedding Dances (Bride and Groom First Dance, Father/Daughter Dance, Mother/Son Dance).

Group classes include Friday Night group lessons at 7:15 pm with levels for beginners and intermediate dancers, followed by open social dancing from 8–10 pm. A 4-week Tap Dance group class series is available at $48 per person. Upcoming group classes have included Nightclub 2 Step (Intermediate) and Social Foxtrot (Beginning) at $48 for 4 weeks. The studio also runs seasonal events: Dance Nights at the Gallivan features big band live music on Tuesday evenings with lessons at 7 pm and 8:15 pm, plus band music from 7:30–9:15 pm.

Private lessons are 40 minutes and tailored to individual or couple interests. Single lessons are $90, with 5-lesson packs at $425 and 10-lesson packs at $800. A first-time special offers $45 for private lessons on first dance or individual/couple instruction. The studio also offers competitive dance instruction for amateur couples, kids, teenagers, and adults at all levels.

The studio specializes in wedding preparation, helping brides, grooms, parents, and grandparents learn to dance with or without prior experience. They recommend 5–6 lessons to prepare for a first dance and can choreograph custom routines to your chosen song.
