About this studio
Centre de Danse du Marais has been a landmark for dance in Paris for more than 40 years. Located at 41 rue du Temple in the heart of the historic Marais neighbourhood, it operates 18 studios ranging from 20 to 135 m² and offers over 400 classes per week across more than 40 disciplines.
The centre teaches classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, urban styles, ballroom and world dance forms. Adult programmes include Classique & Contemporain, Jazz & Urbain, Danses du Monde, Danse à Deux, Forme & Relaxation, and Musique & Théâtre. For children and adolescents, there are dedicated courses in dance, singing, theatre, music, and musical comedy. Specialist formations include Premier Ballet (classical and modern jazz), La Cour Flamenca (flamenco), and Le 41 (urban dance school).
The teaching staff comprises over 100 instructors. The centre runs regular stages and workshops during school holidays, weekends and public holidays, bringing in both resident and guest teachers. Recent special residencies have included Anita Mannings (jazz contemporain, August 2026) and Paige Roberta (lyrical jazz, August 2026). Flamenco specialists include Naya Binghi (advanced and professional technique), Adi Movdat (Sevillan flamenco) and La Verea. Other named teachers include Maritza Arizala (salsa), Mickael Bilionnière (hip-hop, break dance), Flor Capo (flamenco), Fatima Chekkor (danse orientale), Mia Frye (street jazz, hip-hop flow), Caroline Guignard (initiation and eveil danse), Jeannine Lorca (Méthode Popard), Claire Salomon (contemporary), and Aurélie Cointement (pointe work).
The centre does not operate by subscription; instead you pay per class via carnets (booklets). Drop-in classes cost 18–20 euros on average. A Pass 5 Cours (five classes with different teachers) is 75 euros. Summer Paris Dance Camp passes include 5 cours (75€), 10 cours (150€) and 20 cours plus tote bag (300€). Stages typically cost 20–70 euros depending on length. A one-time membership card (12 euros) is required. All studios are equipped with sound systems, mirrors and bars. Five rooms (Offenbach, Berlioz, Wagner, Mahler, Verdi) have Bluetooth connectivity. Changing rooms and showers are available.
The centre is open most days: reception hours are Monday–Friday 09:00–21:00, Saturday 09:00–20:00, Sunday 09:00–19:00. It closes only on 25 December and 1 January. Inscription for children and adolescents takes place annually, with a year-end performance usually held in June. An open enrolment day for autumn 2025 was held on 3 September, where prospective students could meet teachers.

Your first visit
Drop in between 10 and 15 minutes before class; no advance reservation is usually required. Classes cost 18–20 euros, or you can buy a Pass 5 Cours for 75 euros to try five different teachers. The centre has 18 studios equipped with mirrors, bars, sound systems and changing rooms.
