GC Dance Company

GC Dance Company was founded in 2021 and now runs over six classes for all ages and abilities across Cardiff North. The studio is led by Miss Giacci (Giaccolina), the principal and owner, who trained at The Urdang Academy London and has worked professionally in musical theatre and dance for over 18 years. She has performed across the UK in musicals, concerts, music videos, cabarets and television, and spent 15 years as a freelance dance teacher and choreographer before opening the school. She is currently Head of Dance and Minis and Junior Tutor at Bridgend Youth Theatre, where she has choreographed musicals including RENT, We Will Rock You, and the upcoming Jesus Christ Superstar, and directed The Little Mermaid and Shrek Jr. Giacci also qualified as a Level 3 Personal Trainer and combines fitness and dance knowledge to give students a rounded experience.

The teaching team includes Miss Melody, 18, who brings experience in ballet and street dance from Popstars Dance Studio, holds GCSE Dance and A Levels in Performing Arts from St David's College with training in jazz and commercial styles. Miss Keira, also a permanent coach and part of the Senior Team, has danced since age 3, completed grade 5 jazz, advanced vocational ballet training, and grade 6 acrobatics. She danced with English Youth Ballet in 2019 and 2022 and is a ballet Cymru senior associate 2023–2024. She spent four years as a student teacher at her previous school before joining GC Dance.

Classes run at multiple venues: Maes Y Coed Community Centre, St Thomas Church Hall, and Bedwas Workmen's Hall. Ballet begins at age 2 with Pre-School Ballet (Saturday 9am), progressing through Primary Ballet (Saturday 10am, ages 5–7) and Junior Ballet (Saturday 12.15pm, ages 8–12), which covers adage and allegro, strength, flexibility and free work. Tap classes run Saturday 11.45am (ages 5–12), teaching timing, stamina, musicality and foundational techniques like heel digs, toe taps, flaps and shuffles. Musical Theatre (Saturday 10.45am, ages 5–12) focuses on confidence and stagecraft, learning songs and dances from classics and modern musicals. Primary/Junior Dance (Thursday 4pm, ages 5–11) covers kicks, turns and travels alongside introduction to acro, while Junior Modern (Thursday 5.15pm, ages 8–12) develops further technique in a contemporary context. Junior Lyrical/Contemporary runs Thursday 4.45pm (ages 8–12), teaching students to connect emotionally and freely, blending ballet technique with jazz freedom and contemporary expression.

Students have the option to take ISTD Syllabus exams. The studio offers seasonal performances and showcases throughout the year—past events include The Big Day Out (28 March) and the 6th Dance Showcase (6 June at Bedwas Workmen's Hall). Dancers have also performed at Cardiff City Stadium on 4 July with Join the Momentum. A new Senior Collective class is launching September 2026 for older dancers, focusing on training, creativity and connection with opportunities to perform in showcases and external events without competition pressure.

GC Dance Company offers affordable classes with monthly subscription plans, including multiple class and sibling discounts. The studio also runs brand-new dance party events and partners with Pixie Dust for personalised dance uniforms. Classes are designed to encourage students to reach their full potential, boost confidence and try new things.

Classes are taught by qualified professionals in a supportive, creative environment. You'll work on technique, musicality and emotional expression suited to your age group, with opportunities to perform at showcases and local events throughout the year.

Classes welcome all ages and abilities, with beginner groups starting from age 2; Primary/Junior Dance is described as 'great for beginners'.
