About this studio
iDance Mount Pleasant is an inclusive drop-in studio that has been operating since December 2014. Located at 257 E 7th Ave in Mount Pleasant, the studio welcomes adults of all ages and backgrounds to open-level dance classes taught by well-educated local and world-class instructors.
The studio's mission is to provide exceptional dance education in a supportive and nurturing environment, fostering technical excellence and artistic development. iDance is built on the principle that dance is a transformative art form that can touch hearts, transcend boundaries, and empower individuals. The studio is committed to breaking down elitist barriers surrounding dance and creating a fun, friendly, and completely inclusive space.
iDance offers regular classes seven days a week across all disciplines. Styles include ballet, hip hop, contemporary, modern, Bollywood, and Zumba. All classes are open to everyone regardless of experience level. Classes are structured with a warm-up (for example, ballet starts at the barre), followed by short combinations of steps and moves, and finished with a choreographed combination that changes week to week.
The studio operates on a drop-in basis, which means you can supplement or broaden pre-existing abilities without long-term commitment. This approach has opened the door for performers, choreographers, instructors, and anyone else who wants to enhance their knowledge and physical fitness through dance. iDance is expanding across Vancouver, with each location offering an array of dance classes.
The studio is underpinned by five core values: foster inclusivity by cultivating a space where everyone is respected and valued; community connection through nurturing personal relationships and lifelong friendships; being always attuned to the needs and perspectives of dancers and the wider environment; simply wholehearted commitment to sincere, authentic dedication; and moving with momentum by setting clear goals and maintaining steady progress.
