Before your first class
Level 1 group classes are designed for beginners and focus on fundamentals; private lessons are available for all levels from beginner to competitive.
Group classes: $200 for 12 weeks or $265 for 16 weeks (once a week).
About this studio
Jacksonville Dance Center is led by Pavel Cherdantsau and Svetlana Rudkovskaya, three-time United States Show Dance Champions and three-time World Show Dance Finalists. Together they bring over 30 years of teaching experience and compete professionally worldwide in Latin and Standard. They also compete with amateur students at Pro/Am competitions across all styles and age groups. Since 2013, when they opened Jacksonville Dance Center, they have trained students who placed first at the Ten Dance US National Championships and have been awarded numerous scholarships. Both Pavel and Svetlana continue to train with renowned ballroom coaches including Andrei Gaverline, Elena Kruchkova, Hanse Galke, Bryan Watson, Carmen Vincelj, Igor Pilipenchuk, Lorraine Barry and Augusto Schiavo, and pass the latest techniques down to their students.
The studio offers progressive group classes for adults in two levels. Level 1 (6:30–7:30 pm) teaches seven popular dances: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Cha-cha, Rumba, Swing, and Salsa, focusing on frame, footwork, posture, timing, and leading and following. Level 2 (7:30–8:30 pm) is based on Silver and Gold Syllabus with more advanced figures. Classes run in three sessions: January–May (16 weeks), June–August (12 weeks), and September–December (12 weeks). Each class is 55 minutes. No contracts are required.
Private lessons are available for one-on-one instruction at $85 per lesson (45 minutes), with pre-teen and junior lessons at $70. The studio teaches all styles and levels: Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Argentine Tango, and Salsa. Whether you're preparing for a social event, wedding, prom, or competition, Pavel and Svetlana tailor lessons to your goals and learning style.
The studio also hosts social dance parties open to the public, where students can practise what they've learned and newcomers can watch and participate. Guests typically attend as individuals, though couples and groups are welcome. The studio offers wedding dance programmes designed to make your first dance perfect. A kids programme is available for preteens and juniors. The studio operates Monday–Thursday 2 pm–8:30 pm and Sunday 1 pm–5 pm.

Your first visit
Arrive about 15 minutes early to register. Group classes focus on fundamentals and technique with a partner; private lessons are tailored one-on-one instruction. No partner needed for group classes—couples and singles are both welcome. You'll learn specific dances and techniques in a progressive model where each week builds on the last.

Who teaches here
Pavel Cherdantsau and Svetlana Rudkovskaya are the owners and primary instructors. Both are three-time US Show Dance Champions, three-time World Show Dance Finalists, three-time 3rd place US 10 Dance Finalists, and three-time 3rd place finalists at Ohio Star Ball. They teach all styles and levels, with over 30 years of combined teaching experience and a focus on tailoring instruction to each student's learning style.

Studio history
Pavel Cherdantsau and Svetlana Rudkovskaya opened Jacksonville Dance Center in 2013 after years of competing and teaching worldwide. Svetlana received her Master's degree in Ballroom Dance from Belarusian University of Culture and began training at thirteen. They have worked in Korea, China, Belarus, and major US cities before settling in Jacksonville Beach since living there and teaching in the area.
