About this studio
The World of Dance & Talent has been in business for over 45 years, serving Jacksonville families with a structured programme covering all ages and levels. The studio teaches ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, acrobatics, musical theatre, creative movement, and pointe/pre-pointe, running combo classes that combine two styles for younger dancers (ages 3–5). Classes are organised by age group: Primary (3–4 years), Mini (5–7), Junior (8–10), Teen (11–14), Senior (15–18), and Adult.
The schedule runs Monday to Thursday 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Most classes are one hour long. All students can try a class for free once before registration. Monthly tuition for the first child starts at $75 for one class and goes up to $230 for unlimited classes. Sibling discounts apply: the second child costs $60–$160 depending on class load, and the third child $50–$130. Combo classes for ages 3–5 are $80 monthly. A $55 registration fee applies at signup; military families and essential workers (police officers, firefighters, and medical professionals) receive $10 off.
Payment is due on the 1st of each month with a five-day grace period; late payments incur a $15 fee. The studio accepts cash, cheque, and credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover). Students who pay the full season in advance receive 10% off tuition. Referrals are rewarded with a $25 credit off one month of tuition. A 30-day written notice is required to drop classes.
The studio holds an annual recital in June as the centrepiece of the dance year. The first half of the season focuses on technique; the second half prepares students for the stage. Costume fees are $90 per recital, or $95 for extra large or two-in-one combo costumes (due November or at signup if registered later). Recital fees are $100 per dancer, due in March; recital t-shirts cost $25 or $29 for 2xl and 3xl sizes. The studio maintains detailed dress codes for each style: ballet requires pink ballet shoes or pointe shoes, any colour leotard, pink tights, and hair in a bun (no shorts or leggings); hip-hop allows sneakers and any top; tap requires black lace-up tap shoes (Bloch preferred), with socks encouraged. Other styles have their own specifications for footwear, tights, and hairstyle. The mission is to give families a school and dance education they trust, delivering quality, service, and value while creating a positive impact with today's dancers.
