Just For Kix

Just For Kix has been instilling a love of dance in children since 1981, when founders Cindy and Steve Clough started with a single newspaper advertisement in their community of Brainerd, Minnesota. What began as a way to raise their children from home while working has grown into a national network: 12 states, 200+ programs, and 21,000 students and growing.

At the Corpus Christi location (5801 Patton St suite 107), you'll find classes in Kick, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Ballet, Hip-Hop, and Pom. The curriculum is designed specifically for each age group, from Preschool through High School. There are no auditions for weekly dance classes. Dancers are divided by age group to build maximum confidence and self-esteem.

Kick dancing is known for its precision and uniformity, with intricate formation changes and long kick lines. Jazz combines footwork and movement with leaps and turns. Lyrical blends ballet, jazz and contemporary styles to tell the story of a song with powerful movement and beautiful lines. Hip-Hop is a high-energy style with hard-hitting movement and body isolations. Pom dance blends dynamic jazz and hip-hop moves with vibrant pom poms to build teamwork and technical skills. Tap uses the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor, and Ballet provides the fundamental basis dancers need to be strong and flexible.

The studio creates a positive and encouraging environment where every child feels valued and empowered. Experienced and passionate instructors provide age-appropriate dance techniques and choreography. Just For Kix organises seasonal shows, summer camps, private lessons, custom choreography services, and affordable competition opportunities through events like Together We Dance and Nationals. Custom-designed costumes are made in-house and kept budget-friendly, well below market average. The studio also runs a High School Camp and Coaches Conference.

Classes are organised by age group with no auditions required. You'll learn one of seven dance styles—Kick, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Ballet, Hip-Hop, or Pom—in a structured, fun environment where technique and teamwork are balanced with enjoyment and confidence-building.
