About this studio

Klajdi Kasemi is a professional ballroom dancer, instructor and choreographer based in Charleston. With 30 years of dance training, he represented his home country of Albania in professional competitions worldwide and was named 10 Dance Competition Champion in Standard and Latin. He worked as a professional dancer on hit TV shows for 9 years before starting as a professional ballroom dance instructor in 2006.

Klajdi is trained in all four styles of ballroom: American Smooth, American Rhythm, International Standard, and International Latin. Within these styles, he teaches Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive, Paso Doble, Samba, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Bolero, Mambo, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, and Hustle.

He offers private lessons tailored to your goals and schedule. First-time students discuss what they hope to learn, try 2–3 different styles, and receive a personalised plan by the end of the lesson. You need no dance experience and no partner — if you come alone, Klajdi will be both instructor and partner. He teaches people of all ages and abilities, moving at a pace that suits you.

Special services include wedding dance lessons. Klajdi creates customised wedding dances tailored to each couple's budget, schedule, style, comfort level and music choice. He also specialises in Father-Daughter dance, Mother-Son dance and Bridal Party dance, and offers free consultations to plan your first dance.

For those interested in competition, Klajdi actively competes in Pro-Am competitions with students, all of whom achieve great results. Competitions are held in beautiful ballrooms over three to four consecutive days, each day showcasing one of the four styles. Competitors are judged by retired ballroom dance professionals certified in the four styles of ballroom dancing.
