Classes run from pre-school through adult, with students at beginner to advanced levels.

Teresa Merritt, the owner and director, brings over 45 years of teaching experience. She has trained dancers and teachers across Louisiana, California, South Carolina, and Georgia. The studio also employs a teaching staff including Lauren Hodge, who has been with Life Moves since its opening in 1999 and now teaches pre-school through adult classes, and Sharlene Floyd, Beth Tuten, Sarah Marquez, and Makayla Brown as additional instructors.

The studio's mission centers on encouraging individuals to use their gifts and nurture the whole being of the dancer—including technical training, self-confidence, and spiritual growth. Life Moves stresses the joy of dancing and the wellbeing of each student, with dance technique and performance encouraged to build a solid foundation on which each dancer can continue to grow as an artist and individual.

Lauren Hodge, a founding member, started as a student and advanced to become one of the studio's principal teachers.
