About this studio
Miami Valley Dance Center has been teaching dance in Fairborn since 1985, and is celebrating its 47th year of operation. The studio is owned and directed by Kelly Fuller, who assumed leadership in 1991 and has been director for 33 years. Kelly is a 1994 graduate of Wright State University with a B.S. in Business, a 29-year member of Dance Masters of America, and holds certifications in jazz, tap, ballet and acrobatic arts. She is also an adjunct professor at Wright State University, teaching tap and jazz to undergraduates in the Dance and Theater Department.
The facility features nearly 2,500 square feet of dance space across two studios, with a professional "Spring Step" dance floor and viewing windows to each studio. Classes are offered for students age 3 through adult at a variety of levels, including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Acro, Polynesian-Lisi, Irish Dance, Pointe, and Barre Fitness. The studio offers two main curriculum programs: Princess Ballerinas (for ages 3–6, using imaginative theme-based classes) and Dance Force (an accelerated program for serious dancers). The studio also runs the Onyx Contemporary Dance Company, an advanced competitive programme.
The teaching staff are certified professionals. All instructors are either certified through Dance Masters of America, working dance professionals, or graduates of MVDC's teachers-in-training programme. Key staff include Renae Avey (Instructor and Team Choreographer, former competition team member and StarQuest Top Scoring Adult Soloist in 2009), Amy Renee Gibbons (Technique Instructor, Team Choreographer, and Artistic Director of Onyx CDC, who performed professionally with the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company from 2008–2016), Elissa Lyons (Instructor and Choreographer, 29-season veteran at MVDC), and Kieran Perks (Instructor, eight years on the Dance Force competition team). Makenna "Mak" Baker is an Instructor who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Point Park University with a BFA in dance with concentration in modern, and has trained at Joffrey Ballet New York and attended multiple national intensives.
The class schedule runs Monday through Saturday across two studios. Dance Force classes are offered multiple times on Friday and Saturday. The studio hosts a Fall Open House annually and offers a recital each June. Enrollment for the 2026–27 season begins August 10, with classes beginning September 14. The studio is Dance Masters of America certified and adjudicators from the staff judge at Kids Artistic Revue and Rainbow Dance Competition. Several former dancers have gone on to professional careers, including NFL cheerleaders for the Cincinnati Bengals and Indianapolis. Kelly was inducted into the Fairborn City Schools' Hall of Honor in 2015.

What to bring
Dancewear varies by class level and style (light pink leotard and pink tights for Predance; black leotard for higher-level technique classes; loose activewear for adult tap and hip hop, etc.). Specific shoes are required for each class: pink ballet slippers for ballet, tan or black tap shoes for tap, jazz boots for jazz, Blaze Icon Low-Top dance sneakers for hip hop. For Irish Dance, wear socks and jazz or ballet shoes for class. Appointments for dancewear fittings can be scheduled via email with Tawna at MVDCdancewear@gmail.com and typically take 15–30 minutes per dancer.

Miami Valley Dance Center was founded in 1985 and is celebrating its 47th year of operation. Kelly Fuller (Neff) assumed directorship in 1991 after studying with Noreen Peterman for over 10 years, and has directed the studio for 33 years. Kelly is a graduate of DMA's Teacher Training School in New York and completed the Master's in Dance Direction Program, becoming the first in her class to graduate with this honour in 2006.
