About this studio
motion*s is a dance and movement studio with two locations in Berlin — Moritzplatz and Gleisdreieck — focused on contemporary and urban street styles. The studio positions itself as a space for dance education at all levels, whether as career preparation leading towards school completion or as continuing education. It is open and accessible to people of all ages, experience levels and social backgrounds.
The studio offers over 180 weekly classes across 8 studios. Its class programme is closely linked to three structured training formats: Dance Program, Basis Program, and JUCO (Jugend Company). Beyond regular classes, motion*s runs workshops and intensives throughout the year. Summer programming includes multi-day Summer Intensives, and between Christmas and New Year there are Winter Intensives. Specific styles taught include Contemporary, Hip Hop, Dancehall, Waving, Jazz, and Heels.
Kids and Teens programmes serve children aged 3–16, with courses organised by age group and level. Kids courses run in six-month blocks (January–July and August/September–December). Teen-specific offerings include a Teens Camp held in summer and spring. Teens aged 16 and older can join adult courses by arrangement. The studio also hosts Open Stage events where both student classes and invited choreographers perform; these are filmed and published on YouTube.
Beyond dance training, motion*s offers kindergarten birthday parties, hen and stag celebrations with workshop formats, venue rental for private events, and performances. A motion*s app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for easy course booking. Pricing includes single tickets, multi-class cards and subscriptions; members receive discounts on events, workshops and special classes. Probestunden (trial classes) are available for kids and teens at €11 per class, with a maximum of three allowed before committing to a full course block. Founded by Stella Caric, the studio operates under a Code of Conduct and maintains a commitment to inclusive, supportive learning.
What to expect
Your first visit
Classes are organised by age, level and dance style. For a first visit, kids and teens can book up to three trial classes at €11 each; adults can drop in or purchase class cards. All workshops are open to beginners through advanced dancers. The studio emphasises a supportive learning atmosphere where you can try things at your own pace.
