Before your first class
Classes are structured for all ages from 2 and up and all skill levels, from complete beginners to competitive dancers; instructors help place your child in the class that best fits their age, experience, and skill level.
Dance attire is encouraged for all dance and tumbling classes; ballet students should wear a leotard, ballet tights, and ballet shoes.

About this studio
NGDC & Tumbling in Mobile, Alabama offers dance and tumbling instruction for ages 2 through adult. The studio teaches ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre, stretch and strength, and technique, alongside beginner, intermediate, and advanced tumbling and acro classes. Whether your child is taking their first class or training for competition, instruction focuses on proper technique, confidence, and safe progression.
The studio is owned and directed by Brynn Burkmier, a dance educator and choreographer with over 20 years of experience in the performing arts. Brynn discovered her love for dance at age three and is extensively trained in gymnastics, cheerleading, lyrical, contemporary, ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and clogging. She has taught at Robin's School of Dance in Mobile, The Training Ground in Jacksonville, Florida, and the MCCS Youth Center in Beaufort, South Carolina. She has trained under renowned choreographers including Dena Rizzo, Carissa Seaman, and Julian Thorn, and has earned numerous Regional and National Choreography, Overall High Score, Title, and Top Teacher Awards. Brynn also serves as a judge for Talent On Parade Dance Competition.
The teaching team includes Laurynn Blake, a dance instructor who has been dancing since age 2 and trained under choreographers including Colby Shinn, Dena Rizzo, Ivan Koumaev, Twitch, and Keri Legrand. She was a UCA All-American cheerleader four times and danced at the University of South Alabama as a member of the Prowler dance team, competing at the national level. She has been an instructor and choreographer for 11 years and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama. Brooke Burkmier has been teaching and choreographing for over 15 years, earning numerous Regional and National awards; she was a five-year UCA All-American Cheerleader and performed at the Hula Bowl in Hawaii and the Grand Ole Opry.
Ethan Mayo is a Mobile native who started dancing at age 12 and trained in jazz, tap, musical theatre, contemporary, modern, lyrical, hip hop, and ballet. At 17 he received an apprenticeship with Celebrity Dance Competition and performed on the Royal Caribbean ship Majesty of the Seas. He attended the University of Alabama Theatre and Dance department and worked as a character performer for Walt Disney Company in Orlando, Florida. He then taught and choreographed at The Academy of Ballet and Jazz in Tuscaloosa before joining the faculty at Broadway Dance Center in New York City in 2013, where he worked in the Children and Teen Program, teaching, judging auditions, and coaching Broadway performers.
Kaleigh Roberts is an accomplished dancer, educator, and choreographer who has performed for world-renowned professionals including Paula Abdul, Kenny Ortega, Mia Michaels, and Stephen "tWitch" Boss. She earned her degree in Education from the University of South Alabama and serves as the Dance Team Director for Alma Bryant High School and Grand Bay Middle School. Amelia Green, from Pascagoula, Mississippi, trained and competed in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, tap, hip-hop, musical theatre, pointe, and jazz funk at Meta Fairburn's Dance Academy and was a member of the Perkette Dance Team at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Hail State Dance Team at Mississippi State University.
The studio maintains small class sizes, keeping classes between 10–20 students so every dancer receives personalized instruction. Students are placed by age, experience, and skill level. The studio offers a competitive company program for dedicated dancers, with auditions held each spring. Company dancers receive elite training in technique, flexibility, strength, turns, leaps, performance quality, and choreography, with opportunities to train under experienced instructors and guest choreographers. Company dancers perform throughout the season at regional competitions, dance conventions, community events, Christmas Jubilee, parades, the Company Showcase, and the Annual Recital. A free trial class is available upon request.

Your first visit
Classes are held for ages 2 through adult in a range of dance styles and tumbling. Students are placed according to age, experience, and skill level. The studio keeps class sizes between 10–20 students to ensure personalized instruction. Parents may view the last 10 minutes of class each week.
