About this studio
ONE Academy of Dance has trained artists in the Greater Austin area since 2011. The academy occupies a 5,400 square foot facility with four spacious studios and professional hardwood sprung dance flooring. Classes are structured by age and level: younger dancers (ages 3+) explore movement through imaginative, guided play, while older and advanced students (ages 7+ in Preparatory and Cecchetti programmes, ages 10+ in Advanced and Pre-Professional) receive rigorous training in ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, variations, and pointe.
The academy keeps class sizes intentionally small to provide individualised attention. Faculty are experienced, certified teachers with professional performance backgrounds and formal teacher training. The programme emphasizes developing artistry, discipline, and confidence alongside technical proficiency, with careful attention to age-appropriate costuming, music, and training.
ONE Academy runs three major performance productions each year: The Nutcracker (Winter), Art in Motion (Spring Artistic Showcase), and an additional Spring Production. Dancers in Pre-Professional and Advanced programmes can compete, by teacher recommendation, in local and national competitions.
The results speak clearly. Graduates have trained at or been invited to professional companies including American Ballet Theater, Kansas City Ballet, Louisville Ballet, Oklahoma City Ballet, Ballet West, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and Sacramento Ballet. Others have entered university dance programmes on merit scholarship at Drexel University, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Allegheny College. In 2025, the academy achieved 1st Place Senior Classical and 1st Place Duet at CCA (Cecchetti Council of America) competition, 3rd Place finishes across multiple categories at UBC (Universal Ballet Competition), and two dancers earned scholarships to Louisville Ballet. Students have qualified for Youth America Grand Prix (Top 12 in 2018, Top 24 in 2020–2021), and multiple Cecchetti Council of America scholarship winners have emerged from the academy across years 2017–2026.
The academy values faith, community, family, and a balanced lifestyle. Programming is intentionally designed to support dancers' continued success from one level to the next, with personalised and flexible options available. A costume department allows dancers to perform in high-quality professional costuming. The academy also serves as a centre for teacher training and continuing education.
