Red Dance Company

Red Dance Company opened in Fall 2019 with a clear mission: to provide students of all levels with more than just dance classes, but a unique experience in which the student can grow both mentally and physically as a dancer. The studio's founder and owner, Meredith Red, spent 16 years dancing competitively before deciding to share her knowledge and love of dance. She began competitive dancing at age 7, winning numerous titles including Teen Dancer of the Year, Senior Miss Applause, and Senior Dancer of the Year. She has choreographed many National and Regional award-winning routines, some named the Highest Scoring dances of the Entire Competition. Meredith earned her degree from The University of Akron in Supply Chain and Operations Management and Dance, trained with the Normandy Dazzlers for 4 years, and danced professionally with the USFL Football team. She also choreographed for Candy Apples Dance Center, where her routines won first overall at the regional level.

The studio offers a wide range of classes across multiple styles. Young children aged 2–6 can start with the Tots Combo Class, which rotates through 15 minutes each of ballet, tap, and acrobatics in a single 45-minute session. For older students, the studio teaches ballet (levels 1, 2, 3), pointe (levels 1, 2, 3), tap (levels 1, 2, 3), acrobatics (tots through level 3), hip hop (levels 1, 2, 3), contemporary (levels 1, 2, 3), musical theater (levels 1, 2, 3), and jazz (levels 1, 2, 3). There is also a Petite, Junior, Advanced Technique class designed to perfect and refine skills such as turning, leaping, and jumping, with emphasis on technique, correct body placement, stamina, and strength conditioning. This technique class is mandatory for all company dancers.

The studio's highly trained and certified instructors have a wealth of experience. Director and instructor Kimberly Red has been dancing since age 3, studied under prestigious Rockette Betine Winch to master ballet, jazz, and tap, and competed in gymnastics as a top-rated gymnast in Ohio. With 20+ years of teaching experience, she is an award-winning choreographer whose students have placed first overall in countless dance competitions with opportunities to compete on a national level. She is employed with Parma City Schools and was the former Normandy High School Dazzler Coach, instructing, choreographing, and coaching the dance team for 5 years. She is certified in acrobatics through the Acrobatic Arts program run by Cirque Du Soleil and is a certified Dance/Hip-Hop Aerobics Instructor. Alexandra Platt Horvath, an instructor and choreographer, has 20 years of dance experience including ballet, pointe, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, and Ukrainian dance. She began dancing at age three, studied ballet in Voganova styling under Joanne Hughes Morscher at the Royal School of Ballet, and studied Ukrainian dance at the Kashtan School of Dance. Throughout her performance career, she held several lead roles and won awards in various dance competitions. Brittany Litten is an award-winning dancer and choreographer with over a decade of experience in dance instruction, having started training at age four and studied dance at Ohio University.

The studio runs a competitive company program for serious young dancers. Company dancers train on both ballet technique and the broader range of styles. Tryouts for the competition team typically occur in July, with separate sessions for ages 10 and under and ages 11–18. The studio maintains a structured annual calendar that runs from late August through early June, with a recital date in early June. A full range of summer programming is also offered, including intensives in ballet, technique, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and tumbling, alongside daily tots combo classes.

The studio's approach emphasizes ability-based placement, professional atmosphere, and individual growth. All dancers work in a preprofessional setting designed to build confidence and dance skills. The dress code and attire requirements are detailed and specific to each style, reflecting the professional standards maintained throughout the studio.

Other instructors include Alexandra Platt Horvath, a 20-year dance veteran trained in classical ballet and Ukrainian dance; and Brittany Litten, an award-winning dancer and choreographer with over a decade of instruction experience who studied at Ohio University.

The studio welcomes young dancers from age 2 and places all students by ability level, with a free trial class available to prospective students.
