About this studio
Reverie Ballroom, located on the second floor of the 1908 OddFellows Building in Capitol Hill, is the continuation of Century Ballroom, which served Seattle's dance community for twenty-eight years under the leadership of Hallie Kuperman. The space has now been reimagined as Reverie, with renovations underway to restore the Grand Ballroom and West Hall to their original 1908 grandeur, including highlighted soaring ceilings and intricate facades.
The ballroom runs a structured class programme across multiple dance styles. Progressive series classes cost $108 for a 4-week series, with drop-in rates of $28 available for weeks 1 and 2 only (instructor approval required unless noted). Free beginner drop-in lessons are offered weekly at the start of most social dances in styles including Bachata, Blues, Brazilian Zouk, Lindy Hop/Swing, Salsa, West Coast Swing, and Waltz. Students receive a 50% discount on series classes with proof of current school enrollment. Registration opens on the 15th of the month prior to each series and closes when the series begins.
The teaching staff includes instructors such as Alison Cockrill, who has taught Bachata for fifteen years at the space (originally Century Ballroom) alongside Jonathan Wingard-Phillips. The full roster of instructors includes Ariel Goh, Aaron Lewis, Anna Wallace, Barb Buys, Ben White, Blair Kaufer, Dean Paton, Dillon Arevalo, Elise, Ever Doell, Forest, Frances Wolfe, Greg Rolnick, Hallie Kuperman, Hussam, Jodi Fleishman, José de la Torre, Katie Schneider, Lauren Smith, Léo Belmaro, Lia Brown, Lila Faria, Lisa Jordan, Lucie Saether, Patrick Tran, Peter Flahiff, Rebecca Savoca, Robert Crocker, Robin Chow, and Vern Harner.
Beyond classes, Reverie operates as a full social dance venue, hosting regular social dances and events. The ballroom also available for weddings and private events, with the company now booking corporate and private parties to ensure financial sustainability. The venue is located steps from the Capitol Hill light rail station. Class registration is managed through the Reverie Mindbody website (registration cannot be done through the Mindbody app). The registration team is available Monday through Thursday from 5:30–9:30pm, and can be reached by email or phone.

Studio history
Reverie Ballroom is the continuation of Century Ballroom, which operated for twenty-eight years as a cornerstone of Seattle's dance community under the ownership of Hallie Kuperman. The venue is housed in the historic OddFellows Building, erected in 1908 by the Fraternal Order of the OddFellows, and renovations began in April 2025 to restore the Grand Ballroom and West Hall to their original architectural grandeur.
