About this studio
Salsea Dance Academy is Munich's primary address for salsa and bachata in the Schwabing-Maxvorstadt neighbourhood. The studio operates three fully mirrored, air-conditioned halls with sprung parquet floors, professional sound and lighting—designed for training at premium level.
The academy runs three distinct programmes. The Academy focuses on structured pair dance: Salsa (Starter, Basic, Improver, Intermediate, On2 – Transition) and Bachata (Starter, Basic, Improver, Intermediate, Advanced). Four-week Starter courses in both styles begin monthly, perfect for complete beginners. Longer courses run 12 weeks. The Studio programme teaches solo styles—Salsa Free Style, Salsa Lady Style, Bachata Lady Style—plus urban and fitness classes including Reggaeton, Heels/Styling & Body Movement, Dance Hall, Hip Hop, Zumba, Jazz and Ballet. Kids & Teens classes are offered by age group. Specialised courses include Hochzeitstanzkurs (wedding dance) and Privatunterricht (private lessons), plus Teambuilding workshops tailored for corporate groups.
Classes are deliberately small with personal attention, clear methodology and measurable learning goals. The curriculum builds step by step, supplemented by Style-Module and REPEAT+, so technique, musicality and expression take hold. You don't need to bring a partner; the studio maintains a contingent of guest dancers and rotates partners during classes so everyone dances and connects with the group.
Two regular social nights anchor the community. The Legendary Dance Party runs Tuesday evenings from 20:00 with Salsa Nuyorican and DJ Mel on two floors (10 € bar-only). Sensual Friday runs with Bachata and Urban Kizz on two areas—Bachata Main and Kizz Side. Both are practice parties where students apply what they've learned. The studio also hosts weekend workshops and special events: recent examples include a Bachata Choreo Workshop on the song Barcelona with instructor Roberto, a Salsa Starter Crashkurs (3 hours, 69 €), and multi-day bootcamp intensives with visiting artists like Alicia Velasco (October 16–17) and Yaritza Arboleda (April 17–18), each running bootcamp, workshops and party over two days.
The studio rents its spaces for external social dance events on weekends, welcoming other pair-dance styles: Salsa Cubana, Swing, Lindy Hop, Tango, Forró, Kizomba, Zouk and others. It emphasises community and culture: respectful floor etiquette, stylish socials, and the philosophy that dance connects.
