About this studio
Starlite Ballroom teaches ballroom, Latin, smooth, and rhythm dance across competitive, social, and recreational levels. The studio is open Monday–Thursday 1pm–10pm, Friday 1pm–1am, Saturday 10am–4pm and 7pm–midnight, and Sunday 7pm–11pm, giving you flexibility to train or dance across the week.
You can take private lessons in social dancing, hip hop, competitive dancing, and wedding choreography. Private lessons are described as the fastest way to learn, letting you work one-on-one or with a partner in a low-pressure setting. The studio also runs social dancing classes, competitive coaching programs, and kids and teens classes. Youth students have achieved significant results: Latin National Champions, Under 21 Latin National Bronze Medalists, US 10 Dance Champions, World Standard Youth Pro/Am Champion, and World Latin Youth Pro/Am Champion.
The instructors include Ken Julius (social dance instruction, wedding dance choreography, International Standard), Tommy (choreography across all styles, hip hop, jazz, wedding and social dance), Gaetano and Emanuela (International Standard), Stacie (International Standard and social dance), Austin (West Coast swing), and several others who host social dance nights. Andy and Virginia host Friday night parties, Barry and Mei host Sunday night parties, and Tim Michaels teaches social dance. Ken Julius and Austin co-host Groovy Tuesdays, and Ken also hosts Saturday Ballroom.
The competitive programme covers Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Jive, Paso Doble, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Nightclub 2-Step, Hustle, Merengue, Bolero, Salsa, Mambo, and Hip Hop. Wedding choreography lets you dance to music of your choice on your big day. Kids classes are designed to build discipline, self-esteem, and teamwork while serving the San Francisco Bay Area including Santa Clara, Cupertino, Los Altos, and Palo Alto.
Free trial lessons are available to individuals new to Starlite who are beginners in the style offered. The studio will ask about prior dance experience to determine eligibility.

When you arrive, staff will work with you to match you with the right instructor for what you want to learn—whether that's social dancing, wedding choreography, competitive training, or hip hop—and you'll work one-on-one or with a partner in a fun, low-pressure setting.
