About this studio

Studio One Dance Center is celebrating its 20th season of teaching dance in the Keller/North Fort Worth area. The studio operates from a single location on N Beach Street in North Fort Worth and offers over 100 classes across multiple age groups and styles.

Classes span from walking age through adult. Toddlers and preschoolers (walking age to 5 years) can join Move W/Me, Dancin' Babies, Dancin' Tots, Ready Set Dance, and Tap Twirl & Tumble. Elementary students (5–8 years) take Kids Dance levels, Hippity Hoppers, Musical Theater, and Tumbling & Acro. Older children and teens (7 and up) choose from Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Broadway Bound, and Tumbling & Acro at multiple levels. Adult classes in Tap, Hip Hop, and Ballet run Monday and Thursday evenings.

SODC also operates a preschool program for children ages 3–5, offering instruction in music, props, dance, crafts, and weekly Bible stories and devotionals in an environment designed to strengthen hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and cognitive development.

The studio emphasises safety and staff credentials: all staff are CPR certified, YPAD (Youth Protection Association for Dance) certified, and have undergone background checks. Classes are kept small—maximum six students for ages 18 months to 2 years, nine for ages 3–8, and twelve for ages 9 and up. All studios are equipped with Marley flooring and mirrors that start at floor level.

Company-track dancers (Mini-Petite, Junior, Intermediate, Advanced/Pre-Professional, and Rising Stars) train by invitation or audition and take multiple technique, rehearsal, and conditioning classes weekly. Summer programmes and choreography camps are offered for company members. The studio runs an annual Nutcracker production; proceeds support the LePhare Orphanage in Haiti through a partnership with the Taking Shape Organization. Recitals are split into multiple shows, each lasting two and a half hours. Participation in the Spring Recital is mandatory. The studio prioritises age-appropriate music, movement, and modest costumes, with artistic discretion exercised throughout. A curriculum writer certified in elementary education ensures each age group and class follows a thorough, detailed curriculum.

What to expect

Your first visit

First-time visitors do not attend trial classes, as they can disrupt ongoing sessions; instead, the studio invites newcomers to join during Bring a Friend Week (held twice yearly) with a current student. You will register online or in person by appointment, and after confirmation from the office, your class fees are set. New dancers receive a complimentary pair of ballet shoes or a $15 dancewear credit upon registration.
