$200 per term for 1 class per week (Blue tier) to $1,250 per term for 8 or more classes per week (Elite tier)
About this studio
Studio One Performance Hub, established in 2022, is one of Brisbane's top competitive dance schools. Located at 40 Manilla Street in East Brisbane, the studio is directed by Kim Skelton and staffed by a team of experienced, qualified teachers with backgrounds in professional performance and dance education.
The studio runs four main programmes: Studio Petites (ages 2.5–4 years, creative and developmental approach), Studio Stars (beginner to intermediate recreational training), Studio Elite (audition-based competitive training), and Studio Solo (for dancers competing in solo competitions). Classes are kept small to allow individual attention. The styles taught include acrobatic, ballet, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre, tap, and stretch and conditioning.
The teaching team brings significant professional credentials. Kim Skelton has over 30 years of experience as a performer, teacher and choreographer, with a background in professional dance and a history leading a Brisbane-based talent agency. Daniella Rucker holds a Diploma in Musical Theatre and Advanced Diploma in Elite Dance, and has performed professionally on MSC cruises as a dancer and dance captain. Claire Owen is a qualified dance teacher with Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, experienced in musical theatre and contemporary dance across Australia and internationally. Sophie Zimmerman completed her Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management while studying a dual degree at UQ, and has choreographed for St Margaret's Anglican Girls' School and television productions. Keeley Tzoutzias trained at the Beverley Prange Dance Centre in Rockhampton and earned a diploma in elite dance from the Queensland College of Dance. Ava Marenjak is an emerging classical ballet dancer selected for the prestigious Prix de Lausanne in 2022. Shane Wuerthner is a former professional ballet dancer with 12 years' experience as a principal dancer with Queensland Ballet and soloist roles with Vienna State Opera and San Francisco Ballet. Jason Fuchs is certified in Acrobatic Arts and a Radar Technique coach, focusing on safe progressive acro training. Chelsea Burnett is completing a Diploma in Commercial Dance and has three years of teaching experience at Studio One.
New dancers of all ages and abilities can book a complimentary, obligation-free trial class. The studio provides a fun, safe, encouraging and professional environment. Studio Elite and Studio Solo programmes require auditions as part of the selection process. The studio also offers private lessons, corporate training, and wedding dance choreography.
