Before your first class
Classes at all age levels meet students where they are, whether new to dance or advancing from earlier TDA programmes.
Dress codes are age and style specific; ballet students wear leotards and tights in designated colours, tap students wear tap shoes, hip hop students wear athletic shoes, and tumbling is barefoot.

30-minute classes: $55 per monthly installment (billed in 10 instalments September–May); 45-minute classes: $67 per monthly installment.
About this studio
Tonawanda Dance Arts has been leading dance training in the Buffalo area since 1997. The studio is now housed in a brand-new, 5,000-square-foot facility at 2311 Military Road in Tonawanda, with four fully air-conditioned studios, each fitted with sprung floors and wireless sound systems. Every studio has viewing windows and closed-circuit TVs so parents can watch their children dance. The studio is Tech-Enabled, offering live-streaming of all in-person classes so parents and grandparents can watch from anywhere.
The studio serves children from age 1 through 10+, organised into age-grouped programmes: Boppin' Babies (1 year), Boppin' Tots (2 years), Boppin' Kids (3–4 years), Kidance (5–8 years), Kids-In-Motion (7–10 years), and Academy (10+). Classes in the youngest groups are 30 minutes; older groups take 45-minute classes. The studio offers over 120 classes per week across ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, acro, cheer dance, and creative movement.
Melanie Boniszewski, the owner and director, began dancing at age three and has over 40 years of teaching experience. She holds a degree from Dance Masters of America (DMA) and is a Certified Coach with More Than Just Great Dancing (MTJGD). Kelsey Griffin, the Director, started dancing at age three, studied with Classical Ballet of Western New York, earned her teaching certification from DMA's Teachers Training School, and holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Canisius College. All teachers and staff complete CPR, First Aid, and dance education training; all employees are background checked.
Tonawanda Dance Arts is an affiliated studio of More Than Just Great Dancing, a worldwide network of studios committed to high standards of instruction and management. The studio's mission is to enrich children's lives through joyful, high-quality dance experiences that build confidence, creativity, and character. Their philosophy is: "We don't teach kids to make great dancers, we teach dance to make great kids." The facility includes a parent workstation, ample seating in the lobby, and is fully ADA compliant and accessible.
What to expect
Your first visit
Classes are organised by age and skill level. Younger children (ages 1–4) learn fundamentals with parent involvement where appropriate. Older students (5+) progress through ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, acro, and cheer dance with structured technique and choreography. All classes are held in sprung-floor studios with live-streaming available. Parents can observe via closed-circuit TV or attend in-person, and all performances are recorded and downloadable.

The studio was previously located on Hinds Street in the City of Tonawanda, growing from two classrooms to three before relocating to its current 5,000-square-foot facility at 2311 Military Road in the Town of Tonawanda.
