About this studio
The Ballroom of Reno is Reno's first nonprofit partner dance studio, dedicated to making ballroom, Latin, swing, country, and social dancing accessible to everyone. They offer free beginner group classes every week in West Coast Swing, Salsa, Bachata, Argentine Tango, Country Two-Step, and Viennese Waltz, all taught by experienced instructors. Beyond beginner level, advanced group classes cost just $10. New students can claim an introductory special of two private lessons for $39.
The studio teaches across multiple dance families: country dances including Arizona Two-Step, Country Swing, Country Two-Step, Country Waltz, Line Dancing, and Polka; Latin dances such as Salsa, Bachata, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Samba, Merengue, Bolero, Argentine Tango, and Cumbia; rhythm dances including West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, NightClub Two-Step, Lindy Hop, and Hustle; and ballroom dances like Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, and Quickstep. They also offer U-Jam Dance Fitness and Sunday Yoga Reset.
The teaching team includes Jeffrey Munson (West Coast Swing AllStar and Champion, US Open Swing Finalist, over 30 years experience), Jillian Cancino with 17 years in social and competitive American Ballroom and International Style Ballroom & Latin, Avery Singleton specializing in American Ballroom and Rhythm styles, Irene Robles with extensive experience across Ballroom, Latin, Swing, and Argentine Tango, Ashley Atwood in American Style Ballroom and Latin and wedding choreography, Cindy Westin in West Coast Swing, Victoria and Zak in Argentine Tango, Russell Heusser in Bachata, Kiana Moriarty offering 200-hour-trained yoga, and Jill (Viennese Waltz).
Beginner classes meet at 6pm on designated evenings throughout the week. Beyond Basics classes follow at 7pm the same nights. The studio runs a free Dance With Me dementia-friendly partner dance class as part of their community programming. Private lessons are available for couples preparing for weddings or special events, as well as for individual skill development. They offer floor rental and practice space. The studio is supported in part by the Nevada Arts Council and receives funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
What to expect
Your first visit
Arrive 10–15 minutes early to find parking and check in. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes you can move in—no special dance attire needed. Classes start with basic steps taught step by step, then you'll practice with a partner before putting together a fun combination. Partners rotate throughout class so you dance with different people, though you can stay with your own partner if you prefer. No partner or prior experience required.

Avery Singleton teaches American Ballroom and Rhythm styles. Kiana Moriarty is a 200-hour-trained yoga instructor.
