About this studio

Carolina Dance Academy has trained dancers since 2000 under the direction of artistic director Jessica Salas. The academy welcomes children ages three and up and offers classes across all styles of dance: ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, and acrobatics.

The class schedule is organised by age and skill level, starting with 3 Year Old Ballet and progressing through combo classes that blend multiple styles. Younger groups (3–5 year-olds) begin with ballet and tap foundations, while older children take on jazz, lyrical, and contemporary. Hip-hop is offered at beginner (ages 6–9) and intermediate (ages 10+) levels. Acrobatics classes span all ages from 3 year-olds through intermediate learners (10+), and Musical Theater is available for ages 6 and up.

Tuition is structured as an all-inclusive monthly package that covers class fees, recital costumes, admission to the annual recital for you and your guests, and a download of the recital video. A $65 registration fee applies per family. Additional classes beyond your plan are available at a discounted rate of $65 for the class of lesser value. Families provide their own dancewear and shoes.

For dancers interested in competition, the academy runs the CDA Company, which competes in local, regional, and national competitions. All dancers perform in the academy's annual recital, held at the Clover School District Auditorium. Summer camps are also available.

You can reach the academy by phone or email. Jessica Salas, the artistic director, can be contacted directly by phone.

What to expect

Your first visit

Classes are age-grouped and skill-levelled, so you'll start in a class matched to your child's age. Each session combines foundational styles—younger children learn ballet and tap together, while older groups add jazz, lyrical, and other styles.
