About this studio

Dance Academy of Bellevue is a family-focused dance studio in Nashville serving ages 1.5 to adult. The studio occupies two large spacious studios with viewing windows and is conveniently located near Publix, Kroger, Harpeth Valley Elementary, several restaurants, Walgreens, and Starbucks.

Young dancers start with My Grownup & Me (ages 1-3, 30 minutes, 6-week session) and Tiny Tot (ages 2.5-4, 45 minutes, creative dance and intro to ballet). Pre-K and kindergarten students can choose Petite Combo (intro to ballet and tap), Petite Hip Hop, or move into Mini Combo (ballet, tap, and jazz). The studio teaches elementary-level hip hop and tap, pre-teen and teen classes in ballet, contemporary, tap, and jazz, and offers pre-pointe and pointe for advanced dancers. A Company class runs at the highest level.

Adult tap classes run Thursday evenings, open-leveled with no dance background required. Classes focus on basic tap steps, terminology, center work, and traveling combinations. The studio runs a seasonal schedule August through May, with a year-end recital where students perform (recital participation is optional for adult tap but the choreography progresses February through May).

The teaching staff includes owner Brittany Terry (My Grownup & Me, creative movement, tiny tot, elementary combo, ballet), Ashley Allison (hip hop across levels), Anna Ledyard (leveled jazz), Lizzy Martin (leveled tap), Jennifer Spence (elementary and preparatory combo), and Lori Zachary (theater arts). Core values are creativity, encouragement, teamwork, and community. The studio emphasises body positivity, proper technique, dance etiquette, and respect among peers. Office hours are Monday–Friday afternoons and evenings, Saturday morning; Sunday closed.
