About this studio

Haus of Glass Dance is a women-empowered studio founded by Ciara Glass to serve Grand Rapids' adults and children seeking dance training at all levels. When Ciara moved to Grand Rapids, she noticed a severe lack of dance opportunities for adults who hadn't danced yet, had retired from dance careers, or wanted to continue training post-school. She created the studio to fill that gap: a welcoming, professional space for all ages and all levels.

The studio's philosophy centres on growth over perfection and collaboration over competition. Classes emphasise building confidence and feeling beautiful in your body, rather than chasing an ideal. Ciara describes the studio's approach: "Once I was able to focus on my own individual journey as a dancer, aside from where others were in theirs, I was able to enjoy the art-form much more and I found freedom in dance." The studio is committed to training well-rounded humans, not simply dancers.

For children aged 2–12, the studio offers combo classes that blend complementary styles within a single session. Tiny TuTu School (ages 2–4) introduces movement and creativity. Mini's Magical Movers (ages 4–6) teaches ballet basics, creative movement and light stretching. Juniors Jazz/Tap Combo and Juniors Ballet/Lyrical Combo (ages 7–11) develop rhythm, coordination and foundational technique. Teen and adult classes span ballet (including pointe and pre-pointe), jazz, tap, contemporary, urban fusion, Latin dance and Haus of Heels. Advanced ballet is available for dancers en pointe and in the performance company.

The teaching staff includes founder Ciara Glass (Int/Adv Contemporary Fusion, Adult Jazz Tech, Int/Adv Ballet Tech, Pointe/Pre-Pointe, Haus of Heels), Anna Carlgren (Mini's Magical Movers, Adult Pre-Pointe, ballet and pointe), Camille Ernst (Adult and Junior Ballet), Sarah Nichols (Adult Jazz Tech, Juniors Jazz Tap), Ema Ganguly (Tiny's TuTu School, Social/Latin Dance), Rachel Gischia (Adult Contemporary), Kelsey Bowen (Adult Contemporary, Urban Fusion), Alucard McHaney (Adult Contemporary), Autumn Knapp (Haus of Heels), Bethany Love (Adult Urban Fusion) and Jenna Chase (Adult Urban Fusion).

Membership is flexible: Mini Membership ($96/month) includes 4 classes; Multi Membership ($154/month) includes 8 classes; Mega Membership ($216/month) includes 16 classes. Drop-in rates are $30 per class, with 5-class packs at $135 and 10-class packs at $255. Child memberships are $86/month for single classes or $147/month for the double membership. Private lessons include one-time 60-minute sessions at $80, 4-lesson packs at $304, 8-lesson packs at $576, and bi-weekly memberships (2 lessons/month) at $158/month. The studio also offers private lessons, studio rentals, party/event rentals, and wedding choreography through C.Glass Dance Co.
