Led by Artistic Director Kelly Long and Executive Director Tamara Kimball, the studio serves young dancers from age 2 upwards, with a philosophy centred on empowering confidence, creativity, and character through dance.
The studio teaches ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, hip-hop, improvisation, tumbling, contortion, and technique fusion classes. Each style is available at beginner through advanced levels. Class levels at IDA are determined by a dancer's individual skill set and ability in each genre rather than strictly by age. The studio offers Beginner (Intro to Dance) for ages 3–8 with no prior experience required; Level 1 (Foundations) for ages 6–18 with 1–3 years of dance; Level 2 (Development) for ages 6–18 with 3–6 years of training; and Level 3 (Advanced Training) for ages 10–18 with 5+ years of training or teacher placement.
Specialised classes include Tiny Tots (ages 2–4) for beginner technique and rhythm, Tiny Tumble (ages 2–4) for tumbling and gymnastics basics, and Leaps + Turns, which focuses on higher leaps, longer lines, and pirouettes. There is also a Stretch + Conditioning class to warm up and prepare for the evening's training, and a Meditation class for wind-down focusing on guided meditation and mental well-being.
The 2026–2027 season runs from September 1st through May 31st. Registration is handled through an online Parent Portal system. The studio maintains an active social presence on Facebook (Ignition Dance Academy) and Instagram (@ignitiondanceacademy) for announcements and studio updates.
