Dance Hues Studio

Dance Hues Studio teaches dance classes across nine styles for students aged 2 and up. Classes are organised by age group and ability level, starting with toddler and preschool classes (ages 2–5) in acro, ballet and tap, moving through mini classes (5–8), junior classes (8–12), teen classes (11+), and advanced classes for dancers with moderate to extensive training. The studio offers ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, tap, musical theatre, tumbling, and acrobatics.

The studio operates under a mission of equal access to dance education. Over 20 students currently receive adjusted rates based on household income and size. Dance Hues also runs fundraisers to help competition team members cover costume and competition entry fees, which amount to over $10,000 per year. The studio's founder, Brianne Samuelson, took ownership at age 19 in January 2014 when the program needed to relocate. She studied at the University of Kansas in the dance department, where she trained in ballet, modern, jazz, flamenco, and hip hop, and performed with The University Dance Company and the campus hip hop crew Unity. Brianne received her Bachelor's of Arts in Dance from the University of Kansas in December 2016 and her Acrobatic Arts certification in summer 2019, with module two training completed in July 2022. She founded The D.A.I.S.Y. Studios, a non-profit dedicated to arts education access, in July 2016 with her sister Amber Martin.

Amber Martin serves as Director of Operations and studied at the University of Kansas with a dance major and business minor, graduating in December 2018. She received a certificate in Progressive Ballet Technique in 2020 and specializes in teaching ballet, lyrical, contemporary, and jazz. Malyiah Finch is Director of Curriculum Development and former STAMPP company member; she holds a degree in Education from the University of Kansas (Spring 2022) and a Progressive Ballet Technique certificate. Other instructors include Demetra Beers (choreographer and instructor for lyrical, contemporary and hip hop, former STAMPP member since age 9), Alex Grossman (Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Missouri State University, works as an RN), and Kelsie Middaugh Tracy (acro and aerial arts instructor since 2016, trained in tumbling, gymnastics and jazz).

The STAMPP Performance & Competitive Company serves youth dancers ages 7–17 looking for competitive training and team bonding. The program emphasises technique, discipline and responsibility. Front desk hours are Monday 5:00–7:45pm, Tuesday–Thursday 4:45–7:45pm. The studio is located at 1414 N 3rd Street, Lawrence, KS 66044. You can visit during desk hours or email the studio to arrange an appointment.

Classes are organised by age, style and ability level, with specific dress codes and shoe requirements for each. The studio welcomes visitors during front desk hours (Monday 5:00–7:45pm, Tuesday–Thursday 4:45–7:45pm) or by appointment. Parent access to the lobby is limited to keep capacity numbers low.

Brianne Samuelson (Owner & Executive Director) specialises in acro, jazz, ballet and lyrical; Amber Martin (Director of Operations) teaches ballet, lyrical, contemporary and jazz; Malyiah Finch (Director of Curriculum Development) specialises in contemporary, tap and lyrical with recent focus on funk and hip hop; Demetra Beers is a choreographer and instructor for lyrical, contemporary and hip hop with STAMPP; Alex Grossman brings training from Missouri State University and professional nursing background; Kelsie Middaugh Tracy teaches acro and aerial arts.

The studio offers classes at all levels from introductory toddler classes through advanced training, with a mission emphasising equal access to dance education regardless of background.
