About this studio
Il Mosaico Danza a.s.d. is a multi-site dance school across Milan, founded and directed by Sabina Todaro. The school operates from three main locations: Via Privata Pomezia 12 (near MM1/MM2 Loreto), Via Passeroni 6 (near MM3 Porta Romana), and Via Pomponazzi 1 in the Tibaldi zone at Fennec Danza, with an additional space at Via Morbelli 7 in the Amendola/De Angeli area for Lyrical Arab Dance.
What sets Il Mosaico Danza apart is its teaching philosophy. Classes study dances in depth—their musicality and cultural context—while prioritising expressivity and inclusion over competition. The school's founding principle is that dancing should be fun and a serious tool for personal growth. Individual differences and diverse backgrounds are valued as opportunities for learning, not obstacles. You will not find "prima donna" attitudes or competitive pressure here; instead, the aim is to leave each class feeling renewed and energised.
The range of styles is extensive. Flamenco classes cover theory, rhythm, cante, guitar, pedagogy and cajón, supported by collaborations with known Spanish and Italian musicians. Swing encompasses Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, Blues Dance, Solo Jazz, Boogie Woogie and Rockabilly, often featuring visiting guest instructors. Latin American dances include Salsa and Bachata, Latin dance mixes, Dancehall and Reggaeton (with special teen versions). Urban styles cover Heels Dance, K-Pop, Hip Hop, Video Dance, Michael Jackson Style, Funk Brasiliano and Urban Mixstyle. Traditional and cultural dances range from Ballo Liscio (ballroom in pairs and lines), Southern Italian traditions (Pizzica, Tarantella, Tammurriata), Irish Dance and Afro Dance to Lyrical Arab Dance, Belly Dance, Oriental Gypsy Fusion and Bollywood Dance. Classical, Modern and Contemporary Dance are also offered. Beyond dance, the school teaches Yoga, Dance Workout, Stretching & Flexibility and sports-focused fitness.
Sabina Todaro's pedagogical approach integrates neuroscience into learning, supported by an accompanying podcast series. Instruction is offered in Italian, English and Spanish, allowing students to explore dances in their original cultural and linguistic contexts. The school runs short courses, seminars, workshops, guided listening sessions, performances, parties and exhibitions. Summer courses are available. A teacher training course is offered for those wanting to teach dance.
Children and teenagers have dedicated programming across multiple age groups and styles. Adults can join classes at any level. All activities are reserved for association members. The school emphasises a safe, transparent environment and maintains published safeguarding and child protection policies.
