About this studio

Legacy Dayton Dance Studio is family owned and operated since 2018. The studio was founded when owner Michelle Miller took over from her former teacher and mentor, Wendy Streib, who decided to retire. Michelle began dancing at age 3 and danced through her second year of college; she later became a Nurse Practitioner while teaching dance on the side at her old studio before stepping into ownership. The studio is now in its seventh year.

The studio teaches ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, tap, hip hop, musical theater, acro and pee-wee tumbling to students aged 3 and up. They offer group classes, duos, trios and solo lessons. A recital is held annually (next scheduled for May 31, 2026), and the studio offers summer classes and camps. They do not operate as a competitive studio, so students don't feel pressure to compete with each other.

The instructors at Legacy are Cari, Julia, Dana and Carly. Parents note that class sizes are small, meaning students get plenty of one-on-one personalized attention. The teaching style is described as structured and focused while maintaining a laid-back and fun environment. The studio's values are to work hard, spread positivity and make memories.

The studio's mission is to share their passion and love for dance with students of all ages through education, inspiration and guidance. They aim to create a supportive and nurturing environment where individuals can explore their creativity, improve their skills and build confidence through the art of dance.
