The studio runs two major performance events each year: a holiday showcase and a spring recital, giving all students regular performance opportunities. Instructors use goal-setting, regular check-ins throughout the year, and individual progress monitoring to help each dancer reach their full potential. The teaching method relies on scaffolding—instructors offer support initially, then gradually remove it as students become proficient, which the studio says creates attainable goals and less frustration in the classroom.
For dancers wanting to take their training further, Momentum Dance Collective Company is a competitive programme. All company dancers are required to train in both ballet and jazz, and the studio strongly recommends taking additional classes in other styles to become well-rounded. Company dancers rehearse weekly (rehearsals are held on Saturday mornings and some weeknights as space and dancers are available) to learn and prepare routines in a variety of dance styles. They perform locally for community events and attend both local and out-of-town competitions. The 2026-2027 season will include auditions on July 24 and 25, with video auditions available for dancers unable to attend in person. Contact Maddy for company information. This year the company will attend three local competitions and one optional out-of-town competition. Company costs vary based on the number of routines, dancers in each routine, costumes, and props; costs are communicated to parents so they can decide which numbers their dancer participates in.
The studio offers private lessons and a free trial class for new students. Registration is required each fall and summer through the Parent Portal; a registration fee of £25 per dancer or £30 per family applies to fall and summer enrolment. Tuition is paid in equal monthly instalments (August–November for fall, January–April for spring, June–July for summer), posted on the 1st of the month and due by the 10th; a £10 late fee applies to payments after the 10th. For January and June, tuition is posted on the 15th and due on the 20th. Missed classes can be made up by taking a similar class at a different time. Students must be symptom-free for at least 24 hours before resuming classes. Parents may observe classes on TVs in the lobby; a Parent Observation Week is held once per year when parents are invited to join classes.
