About this studio
Purdance is a dance studio in San Jose serving preschool, children, and teens ages 2.5–17. The studio operates six days a week during the regular season (August–June), with classes Monday–Friday 4–8:30 PM and Saturday mornings 9 AM–12 PM. During summer, hours reduce to four days a week.
The Twinkle Toe program serves ages 2.5–5.5 with combination classes, creative movement, and mini ballet. The Children & Teens (CT) program, for ages 5.5–17, offers ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, acro, K-pop, hip-hop, and street style (popping, locking, breaking), plus technique, strength, and movement classes ranging from introductory to advanced levels. Pointe work is available for ballet students who meet instructor requirements. A Mommy & Me program is also offered.
The studio's mission centres on cultivating an environment where young students discover music and rhythm, gain self-confidence and poise, and engage in learning through a positive and healthy curriculum. Classes emphasise a non-competitive, body-positive environment with individualized attention in small class sizes. All skill levels are welcome; no previous dance experience is required.
Purdance runs seasonal programmes: Spring Classes run January through June 13, 2026; Summer Camp operates June 15–July 31; Summer Evening Classes run June 16–July 31, Monday–Friday after 5 PM, offered week-to-week for flexible scheduling. Fall enrollment opens in August. An Elite Competition Program is available for dancers wanting to prepare for the professional world of dance.
Beyond regular classes, the studio offers private lessons, wedding and event choreography, workshops, group lessons, studio rentals for rehearsals and private practices, birthday parties, and dance event requests. A recital photo gallery and Elite Competition Teams with auditions are documented on the site. The InsPURation Elite Dance Showcase is held annually.
