Tanzschule Tanzraum Köln Zentrum

Tanzraum Köln Zentrum is a multi-location dance school in Cologne offering over 100 classes per week across more than 20 dance styles. The Zentrum location is at Salierring 33, 50677 Köln, with additional studios in Nippes, Am Dom, and Neumarkt, making it easy to find a class that fits your schedule and location.

Pair dances form a major part of the curriculum: Salsa, Bachata (Sensual and Dominicana), West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Discofox, Tango Argentino, Kizomba, Brazilian Zouk, and Gesellschaftstanz (Standard and Latin). For solo dancers, the school offers Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Commercial, Reggaeton, Heels, and more. Tanzfitness classes include Barre Workout, Baby Mama Barre, Zumba, and Yoga.

The school places emphasis on accessibility for beginners. New pair-dance beginner courses start every eight weeks, and you can attend a free trial week with no partner required. Most classes rotate partners, though if you come as an established couple you need not rotate. Only Standard/Latin requires a fixed partner at registration. You can join beginner courses up to the end of the third week. Clean shoes are all you need; formal dance shoes are optional.

Children and teens have dedicated programs: Ballett für Kinder follows the Royal Academy of Dance structure and emphasizes posture, coordination, musicality and body awareness through play and age-appropriate teaching. Hip-Hop für Teens focuses on current music, varied choreography and creative expression alongside rhythm development and training with peers.

Private lessons, kindergarten birthday parties, Junggesellenabschiede (stag and hen dos), corporate team-building workshops, and private group classes are all available, tailored to your needs. The school also hosts regular social events including Mambo Madness (100% Salsa with beginner workshops and shows), Pure Bachata Sunday Meet Up practice nights, and multi-day festivals like the Cologne Lambada Summer Festival. MVLB Sessions workshops and Friday Kizz nights add to the events calendar. The school works with Urban Sports Club and EGYM Wellpass, with each check-in counting as one class. Booking and payment is handled through the Eversports platform.

You can visit any beginner pair-dance class free and without obligation during the trial week—no partner needed. Most classes are relaxed and structured for people starting out, with new courses cycling every eight weeks. You'll rotate partners unless you arrive as a couple, and the focus is on learning at your pace in a community atmosphere.
